maison martin margiela’s show for its 2011 women’s collection included a number of explanatory showstoppers that were interesting, but bordering on contrived at the same time. overall the collection featured plenty of minimal, ‘classic’ pieces that will find their way more easily to the closets of the maison martin margiela’s avid fanbase. silhouettes are ultra-short or long and lean yet always with a decidedly masculine touch. shown below are five exemplary looks from this collection.
