Dior homme s/s 2012
Designer kris van assche creates a crisp new balance between formal cuts and sportswear for the brand’s s/s 2012 collection. volumes are redefined, and are put in sharp alignment with shoulders and waists. trophy items are the collection’s jackets and coats, which accordingly have sharp details: the first have a raised collar, held by a detachable button borrowed from uniforms, and the latter a double overlap, front and back. shown here are seven looks that we particularly like.
Lanvin - looks from the s/s 2012 collection,
Neil barrett s/s 2012
it’s a first at self edge. we’re talking the denim brand’s two brand collab jean with both the flat head and real japan blues. the first two have come up with a new slim straight fit and the latter has developed a new 14 oz. unsanforized zimbabwe cotton denim. the jean was cut and sewn at the flat head’s facilities using its hardware and 100% cotton thread. the left pocket stitched with the real japan blues arcuate and the right pocket stitched with the flat head arcuate, both stitched in indigo-coloured thread for subtlety. the fabric is a 14 oz. rope-dyed unsanforized japanese selvedge denim, and it comes loomstate, untreated after being woven. the collab jean is available at self edge stores insan francisco, los angeles and new york, but can also be ordered online.
jil sander - hybrid is hot
it’s back to black, captured in an amalgamation of styles of the past decades. it may sound dodgy but jil sander’s s/s 2012 men’s collection features very balanced looks, and the use of advanced fabrics such as lacquered eel-skin, transparent pvs and waxed cotton, even give it the fashion-forward ‘umph’ factor. the colourful body bags, worn around the neck or strapped across the body, add up to this distinct contemporary style. shown here are four looks that we particularly like.
